Connect a Team to Jira

Name a team, pick a connected Jira organization, then choose its Project and Board to tie the team's work to Jira.

Open in Everview

A team's Jira connection is two fields: which Jira project it tracks, and which board on that project.

Connect it

  1. Open Teams from the Organization Menu, then create or open a team.
  2. Set the Team name, then choose a connected Jira account under Organization — this must already be turned on from Connect a Provider for Your Organization.
  3. Under Data Source in Jira, choose the Project, then the Board within it.
  1. Click Create Team to save.

What to do about it

Once connected, set the team's workflow preferences — default issue type, capacity, and member allocation — in Set Team Capacity and Workflow Preferences. To link the GitHub repositories this team also works in, see Connect a Team to GitHub — a team's Repositories list depends on a GitHub connection existing somewhere in the organization, even if the team's primary data source is Jira.
