The four toggles above the prompt bar — Search, Tactical, Grounded, and Strategic — change how deeply Ask Ever reasons before it answers.
The four modes
- Search — "Look up data without AI reasoning." No reasoning step at all: use it to find a specific task, sprint, or person fast, the way you'd use a search box.
- Tactical — "Fast, concise checklists." Quick, operational answers scoped to what's happening right now.
- Grounded — "Evidence-first answers with citations." Slower than Tactical, and scoped to the current sprint — every claim is tied to a source you can check.
- Strategic — "Cross-sprint analysis and scenarios." The deepest mode, looking several sprints back and ahead for trends and tradeoffs rather than a single sprint's status.
Choosing one
Click a mode's icon before you send your question; it stays selected for the rest of that conversation until you change it. Reach for Search when you know roughly what you're looking for, Tactical for a quick status check, Grounded when you need an answer you can cite back to someone, and Strategic when the question spans more than the current sprint.
