Sprint Results: Exceeded, Success, Partial Success, Failure

Sprint Results classify a finished iteration's outcome into one of four categories, from Exceeded down to Failure.

What it is

Once an iteration ends, Everview classifies its outcome as one of four Sprint Results: Exceeded, Success, Partial Success, or Failure. This gives you a single, consistent label for how a sprint went, without re-reading every metric individually.

How to read it

Sprint Result is a retrospective classification — it's only assigned once an iteration moves from active to past. It reflects delivery against commitment for that sprint (see Say-Do Ratio), so a sprint where the team delivered everything it committed to, or more, lands as Success or Exceeded, while a sprint that fell well short of its commitment lands as Failure.

What to do about it

Use Sprint Result to scan quickly across past iterations for patterns — a string of Partial Success or Failure results is a stronger signal than any single sprint's Momentum reading, since it filters out one-off noise. When reviewing a Failure or Partial Success sprint in retro, check Velocity and Capacity and Availability together to see whether the commitment was unrealistic or something disrupted execution mid-sprint.
